Yamato – Gamushara

Date: 15 February 2012, Wednesday 20:00
Venue: Budapest Congress Center

This is the 4th time that Yamato comes to Hungary to initiate Hungarians into the exotic world of traditional taiko-drumming! Interestingly, the members of the Yamato association live their life according to the idea of Gamushara, which is similar to some eastern meditational methods. The word ‘Gamushara’ means concentration but it refers to something deeper, the state of not thinking of the future, just assigning yourself to your aim, the road of achieving your goals. Now you wonder about their music… The modern taiko-drumming was born in the mid twenties when Oguchi Daihachi created chamber music from the different types of Japanese drums. It has gained enormous reputation and resulted in the creation of several bands and assocications. This event enters you into the world of a different culture!
