The Scots know how to celebrate New Year – or Hogmanay, as they call it – and The Caledonia is the place to be if you want to see in the New Year, Scottish style.
In fact, they’ll celebrate New Year twice. Once at midnight, here in Budapest, and then, an hour later, The Caley will go live to Edinburgh to see in the New Year again; it’ll champagne the first time round and whisky the next – all soaked up by a hot and cold buffet of Scottish/Hungarian specialties. With music and karaoke, it promises to be another Caledonia special. Tickets cost 6,000 HUF and need to be bought in advance.
