We told you the southwestern shores were a haven of peace and quiet, right? Well, here’s the proof – the oasis that is the Krishna Valley in Somogyvámos,
just 30 km from the lake. A handful of monks moved into the valley 15 years ago, seeking calm and spiritual peace, and now 150 monks live here with their families. Entering this oasis is like stepping into another world, one of spirituality, harmony and peace. Those who live here try to live in harmony with nature, so they care for a gorgeous botanical garden, ponds
and parks, and even grow their own organic food. Try the wonders of the earth in the restaurants here, and get to know more about the Hare Krishna faith at the
Krishna temple, the only one in Europe.

Már ecseteltük, mennyire nyugalmas a Balaton déli partja, erre újabb bizonyíték a tótól 30 km-re fekvő somogyvámosi Krisna-völgy. 15 éve egy maroknyi
szerzetes költözött a völgybe, hogy nyugalmat és lelki békét találjon, azóta már százötvenen élnek itt a családjukkal. Ha ellátogatsz a völgybe, mintha egy másik világba lépnél. Itt mindent áthat a spiritualitás, a harmóniára törekvés és a béke. A völgy lakói tökéletes egyensúlyban próbálnak élni a természettel, ezért egy gyönyörű arborétumot, tavakat és ligeteket alakítottak ki, sőt, az élelmiszereiket is maguk termelik a biogazdaságukban. Az itt termett fi nomságokat megkóstolhatod az éttermükben, és még haza is vihetsz egy kis csemegét. A Krisna-tudat persze mindenekelőtt egy vallás, így nem csoda, hogy a völgyben számtalan szentélyt találunk, nem beszélve az Európában egyedülálló Krisna-templomról.
