Hungarian contemporary dance staple Krisztián Gergye’s inspired mostly by the immaterial and spiritual dimensions of life, and his new choreography, Quartet deals with the problems and facts of coincidence. In his words, “Nothing happens by accident, and thus there’s no such thing as coincidence. Everything is pre-ordained, and yet we’re still amazed that things can only happen like this and no other way.” Composed by the deepest of the unconscious of four dancers, the piece, resembling an S&M role play, is both provocative and meditative.
